Central @ 70 Launch

The Mayor Drew Thompson launched the Central @ 70 Exhibition at the Creggan Neighbourhood Centre. Children from local schools and residents presented their ideas for the area. Sean McMonagle of the NMT chaired the event and Padraigin ni Mhaonaigh of CNP who co-ordinated the initiative outlined the grass roots nature of the consultation and the impressive display of ideas that local people generated.

The mayor re-iterated the need to ensure a bottom-up approach to community development and Conal McFeely followed with a call for local people to get involved in ensuring that change within the area involved the community at its heart.
